Fig.2 after adding the DMGS actuator, a direct drive gimbal achieves better performance in 4 areas thanks to a reduced workload on the gimbal.

A Clear Definition on Performance


We refer to line-of-sight accuracy as the "in use" pointing performance of the system. Manufacturers often list sensor specification and not working accuracy, for example, a gimbal device might have a specifed sensor resolution of 0.001 degrees but it´s line-of-sight accuracy in use would be closer to 0.05 degrees.

It follows that: "The DMGS enhanced gimbal operates closer to its sensor specification."
